Hi, I’m Cindy, and I’m here to share the real, unfiltered journey of single parenthood, special needs advocacy, and finding hope in the hardest moments.
My life changed forever when I gave birth to triplets at just 23 weeks. We lost one of our precious babies, while my two survivors faced an uphill battle from day one. Today, one of my triplets lives with cerebral palsy and other health challenges, while the other continues to overcome their own set of obstacles. Along with my two older sons, our family of five has learned that strength comes in many forms.
As a special education teacher, I work daily with children who have autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and other learning differences. But it wasn’t until I became a parent to children with disabilities that I truly understood both sides of the equation, the classroom challenges and the home realities that keep parents awake at night.
Over the years, I’ve discovered strategies and approaches that can help bridge the gap between school and home. I’ve learned what really works to prepare children with disabilities for academic success, and more importantly, I’ve figured out how to do it as a single parent when resources are stretched thin and energy is running low.
Why I’m Here
This blog is for the parents who are navigating uncharted territory. Whether you’re dealing with a new diagnosis, struggling to advocate for your child at school, or simply trying to survive another day as a single parent raising children with special needs, I see you, and I’ve been there.
I share practical strategies that actually work in real homes with real challenges. No perfect solutions, just honest, tested approaches from someone who understands that some days, getting everyone fed and loved is victory enough.
